The Rockwall Independent School District is pleased to announce the 2025 Teacher of the Year nominees. Twenty-five teachers, one representing each campus, were selected by their peers and colleagues for the honor.

Kristie Hudspeth, Assistant Principal of Pullen Elementary in Rockwall ISD, has been named the 2025 Region 10 AP of the Year by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). The peer-based award celebrates assistant principals from the 20 TEPSA Regions across the state who demonstrate exceptional leadership in fostering a culture of excellence for students and teachers on their PK-8 campus.

Sadie F., 8th grader at Cain Middle School, is the Rockwall County Spelling Bee champion for the second year in a row! Sadie will represent Rockwall ISD in the regional spelling bee in March.

Rockwall ISD is proud to announce its selection as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). This esteemed recognition celebrates districts across Texas that demonstrate exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success through high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

Congratulations to 21 Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy students who competed against 2,100 at DECA District 11 and qualified for State! 

Congratulations to the Rockwall-Heath High School Choir on their record-breaking five students selected for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Choir! The Heath Choir has never had more than one student make all-state in a single school year and has only had four students in total in the school’s history.

Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy students are gaining a competitive edge by utilizing A3 Lean Management, a powerful problem-solving tool used in industries worldwide.

Thanks to the voters of the 2021 bond election, Amanda Rochell Elementary School has a new, much-needed building.

The Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees approved Rockwall ISD’s legislative priorities for the 89th Legislative Session that starts January 14, 2025.

The Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Jacob Payne at the principal of middle school #4. Mr. Jacob Payne has served Rockwall ISD as Associate Principal of Student Services and an assistant principal at Rockwall-Heath High School for the past seven years.
